Severn Belles Pedalling to Empower

Congratulations to all the Belles who rode with us to Pedal to Empower for World Bicycle Relief. 7 hardy souls set out to compete 160 miles - the distance one young woman walked to collect her Buffalo Bike. We welcomed Vicki on her first Belles RideOut, and she rewarded us with a most wonderful banana and chocolate loaf. šŸ˜ Caroline joined us for her second RideOut and completed her longest ever ride, topping the quarter century, and nearing a third 😱 she even chose to go the long way home...

Which turned out to be a good thing! Poor Cara was beset with more mechanical issues and completed half the ride, so Caroline's extra miles, along with Vron's marathon 37 miles meant we just topped our target of 160!

The miles were definitely worth the effort with excellent cake available at the Severn Belle cafƩ, the aforementioned bananachoc from our newbie, along with lemon drizzle and Viennese fingers provided by mummy Scrivin (sadly her baking skills haven't been inherited...)

Coffee and cake money (including from absent friends) was donated, and the best news of the day is that we did indeed hit our target of £120!! That will fund one Buffalo Bike and change one woman's life forever!

The weather was glorious and we could have sat there all day, until someone pointed out that half the group actually still had to ride home (makes a change for it not to be us northerners!)

Thank you again everyone, let's do it again next year (I'll book the weather now...)
